In light of recent events the President began pushing for gun reform laws that would make it more difficult for people with mental illnesses, and criminal records, to purchase guns.
That reform law was shot down today in Congress, and the President was not too pleased!
Here is the video from today’s press conference, via

“So while this compromise didn’t contain everything I wanted, or everything these families wanted, it did represent progress. It represented moderation and common sense, and that is why 90% of America supported it…. but unfortunately this pattern of spreading untruths about this legislation, served an agenda. Those lies upset an intense amount of gun owners, who in turn, intimidated a lot of Senators.” – President Barack Obama
The debate rages on, is this a real blow to gun control backers or not?
Do gun laws need to be reformed?
Or is there a more sinister plot going on?
A recent report has surfaced that is already stirring much of this debate on Violence in America.
This report seems to suggest, that former Navy Seals may have been spotted near the events that transpired on Monday, at the Boston Marathon.
This report is already coming under fire from others who suggest it’s just more conspiracy talk – but as usual, I suggest we all look over the information and decide for ‘ourselves’…
The President is saying that this is Round 1 – that he will push to reform gun laws even more – while the far right suggests that he is really seeking to infringe on 2nd amendment rights. When more violence occurs in America, and then just a few days later a law that is supposed to help cut down violence in America is shot down … the ongoing debate immediately gets more interesting.
Debate and Discussion is good, and now, is a great time to discuss what’s really happening – and what can be done about it.

As President Obama pointed out so accurately, the lies told about what these laws seek to do, don’t help. People have good reasons to want to own guns, and I don’t always disagree. However, I’m sure gun reform laws, won’t be enough. It is actually true, that it’s the person with the gun, and not the gun itself, that does the damage we see. That means, we at some point, must get real, about the kinds of Human Beings we are. Related articles to these ongoing discussions on gun reform laws are below.
