These American Holidays, are the only times when most people are off work, home from school, businesses are closed – most of the excuses NOT to be able to come by and spend time with your family are out the window :: If you’re black, you’re most likely Not gathering on Thanksgiving to celebrate Pilgrims & Indians; most of us don’t get together on the 4th to celebrate America’s freedom —

For black people it’s always been different …

OUR history includes Slavery; a BRUTAL time for our families, many of which were SEPERATED during that time; Many were Bred/Raped – and they never even SAW their own children; as they were bred to be SOLD to some other white persons family.

When Slavery Ended, it was Black people who began Seeking out their Family members – it’s Black people who started Family Reunion traditions, due to Our families being Broken Apart — and this is why Black people gather on American Holidays — it’s never about celebrating America; and it’s always about Celebrating Family.

Some of my people ‘try’ to be too pro black; to the point they’re missing the entire POINT of being black; and that point is to BUILD, network, GROW Bonds with, YOUR black Family members …

That’s where it starts; But, honestly we do have too many black people, who don’t come from families that ever ‘got back together’ – They remained separated – and over time, those kinds of black people never became the Social Types of black people that desire to be around family; Coming from dysfunction and passing dysfunction on…

Sometimes people in families like mine, who come from traditions with family get togethers, reunions and what not, Marry people from families who don’t have those traditions;

Those ‘new partners’ don’t really want to come around THE family like that; and end up not wanting their Man/Woman going around their Own family either; that Misery loves company kinda thing …

and over time, we end up losing family members, cause they married someone from a different ‘tradition’ – that doesn’t understand the importance of bringing the family back together; As each year and each generation passes, some of our families, that came ‘back together’ following slavery, have slowly drifted further and further apart…

and now, every year, we got black people Hittin the Social Media up to try and make other black people Feel Bad for wanting to get together with their loved ones, during Holidays …

Cause, when ELSE are we supposed to gather???

most of them have no solutions; no answers; they just wanna hate on America; and I feel like you can do that, and STILL gather with your family on those holidays; You don’t have to be Happy about “why” we all have the day off; but you can be Happy to see your Loved one you haven’t seen or talked to in a while – You can be happy to see your Elder Relatives that looked out for you when you were a Child –

You don’t have to believe in Jesus Christ to drop by on Christmas and give a gift to a Loved one; just cause you love them; cause again when ELSE are you gonna do that?

You got Work in the morning ….

You don’t get off till 5 pm …

You don’t get home till 7 pm …

and you gotta get up for work the next day …

MF when do you have TIME to see all/most of your family??

The answer is — On those Holidays —

So cut the bullshit please; Either you wanna see your family or not; and if you don’t love your loved ones; or they don’t love you; I hope that changes for you soon – I hope you find some loved ones to spend time with, on days like those; so you don’t sit at home consumed with hate, over some shit you’re probably not even actively seeking to FIX

– cause you’re not Talking about Reparations; you’re not Building a business and talking to black people about Group Economics; You’re not following Politics, or discussing the importance of Raising MONEY To elect the people who’ll pass the LAWS to get black people in better positions; Y’all just at the house sayin F’ck Thanksgiving, F’ck Christmas, F’ck the 4th of July – and hey I feel you; but what that got to do with seeing your loved ones?

I’m a big fan of red pill and blue pill; and they do this type of shit; all they really do these days however, is be upset about things; they talking about Numbers, talking in Code, and selling they products; but I don’t hear them talking about group economics like they used to; I don’t hear them talking no real political strategies like they used to; they just waiting for America to fall; and it just might; but what any of that got to do with spending time with the people who Matter the most??

They can all miss me with that.

Before it was a holiday, they used to be like “we should really be celebrating Juneteenth not the 4th …” — when ‘some families’ had been doing that for 50+ years already; and when they were having those gatherings, most of us didn’t go…

cause we had to go to work in the morning …

and we didn’t get off till 5pm …

we didn’t get home till 7 pm …

… and had to get up for work the next day.
